Verizon Palm Pixi Plus BOGO Print Ad

Verizon’s Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus ad campaign isn’t directed just at television watchers. We’ve received the above ad, slotting into an “alternative weekly newspaper” (think New York’s Village Voice or San Francisco’s Guardian). The demographic for this paper: 21-34 urban singles. With the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus receiving the bulk of Big Red’s advertising attention right now we wouldn’t be surprised to see some very good numbers from Palm when the quarter ends.

Nice to see some love from VZW to help Palm out!!

Keep in mind, these ads will have very little effect on "sell-in" as it's unlikely Verizon will sell so many in 2 weeks that they need to buy more from Palm. However, it's sure to help sell-through. And it's a good indicator that Verizon made a large order of webOS phones, since if they hadn't they wouldn't be advertising so much.

Oh... I should also mention too..

I work in radio as a production director, and I also do an air-shift on a rock station. We have a request hour at noon that is sponsored by Verizon.

The live read I am doing this week (and maybe future also) talks about the Pixi Plus being on the largest 3G network. It also says that it makes a great gift for mom (I'm guessing early start on Mother's Day).

I assume we will see more spots on TV with the webOS and how Mom will love it

Has anyone had issues with their pixi? My wife's show's the too many cards error, when there aren't any cards open. And, it constantly gives her a black screen. I wonder if the patches are doing this to her but just wanted to see if this is an isolated issue.

Rebooting every day or two helps.

Now this is more like it! Hopefully webOS mindshare and sales will increase now.

I recently heard a pretty good radio ad for VZW Pixi Plus on local ESPN radio affiliate, during morning drive. It mentioned multitasking, wifi, notifications that don't interrupt. All in all, a decent radio spot.

O2 are starting to push the Pre pretty hard in Ireland too. I've see full page ads in a major newspaper (Irish Independent) on multiple days. Still all-iPhone in the shops though

Now if Sprint would have done the same. :(

With much lower monthly fees, 2 Palms on Sprint is still a lot cheaper than VZ's BOGO.

I want a white back for my pre!! Or some cool touchstone back cover!

ugly phone :-(

This really makes me understand the need for whatever phone palm puts out next must not be exclusive to sprint. It just makes too much sense not to.

Much better!!!!

this is way better than the moms ads, this add campaign is simple and to the point, I hope Verizon actually boosts sales, Sprint's ad campaign was week for the pre, the VZ commercials tell so much more about the features, what ppl are actually looking for.

That's great I hate trying to tell people about my palm pixi and they shrug me off cause they've never heard of it hopefully this will get the word out and get more customers

Wow, I hope no one ever asks for a pink phone to market to women again since you all only care about the features now.

Yay for vzw dropping those weird mom commercials. I just seen the creepy pale girl PRE commercial (because I read about it on here), but at least she was cute & actually explained the phone. I think Sprint's commercials for the Pre were not too shabby...and they did a good job at promoting the phone in movie theaters. Verizon just has more $$$ to make better commercials...but it doesn't really matter unless they turn into sale numbers =) ...especially for Palm & webOS!

all i can say is thats a bad ass looking case and i want my pre to look like that all carbon fiber and shit

that's not a Pre case, it is the back of a Pixi

great ads!

Saw the ad on ESPN. It will do wonders for Pre sales!!

There's a huge billboard off a busy street in downtown Minneapolis. I've also seen a poster advertisement in a traffic-heavy area in the skyway. They were both advertisements from Palm, not Verizon or Sprint, just Palm. Glad to see Palm advertisements and my pre blown up to that size! Go WebOS!

So the newspaper was directed toward singles. Why would they want two phones/two contracts?
