Verizon Pre 2 pops up on eBay, actual release date still elusive
So, you want a Verizon Palm Pre 2, eh? How much are you willing to pay for one off contract with a bad ESN? Despite the fact that a release date has yet to be revealed, or the Verizon Pre Plus even shown off in public, the phone has made its inaugural appearance on eBay, if only for a brief time.
The phone was advertised as a Palm Pre Plus (Verizon), which likely led to its relatively low bid price of just $46.00 after two bids with just over two days left on the action. The phone was said to have a bad ESN and does not include a charger, and was described as being “great for parts,” you know, assuming that you could find a phone with which to swap those parts. The pictures however, told another story: it was very clearly a Pre 2. We checked in with the seller, confirmed that this was a P102EWW - a CDMA Palm Pre 2,
But then the seller realized just what he had on his hands, and wanting to avoid any iPhone 4 in a bar-style fiascos, decided to pull the auction.
All of this leads us to wonder when we actually might see the Pre 2 on Verizon, Rogers, or really anywhere other than SFR and magical unlocked phone land. At this point we’re doubting that we’ll see it by the end of the year, and with Palm hopefully set to announce something better at CES in three weeks, why bother anymore with "the coming months"?
Regardless, the auction’s been pulled, but we took the liberty of posting the small photos after the break for posterity’s sake. Maybe someday we’ll be able to hold an actual Verizon Pre 2 in our real hands... nah.
