This might well be the biggest teaser of the day, folks. WebOS, somehow, someway, some time -- OK, "later this year, they say" is coming to the desktop/laptop space. The plan is to expand the reach for developers to millions and millions of customers.
That's two PCs every second, HP says. You can easilly eclipse 100 million webOS devices a year in that space. HP will offer more details on that later this year.

Not the same experience using a mouse, I think... Touchsmart?
Could this be the least sexy but most important announcement of the day.
Something that brings in the developers and not based on phone sales means APPS APPS APPS.
The one thing that Palm needed more than anything else.
Or should I be saying HP now?
Hope some of these great products make their way to the UK soon after the US...cmon show us some love HP
HP is good at moving PCs. If they can move webOS PCs, the future is looking bright for webOS.
Looks like I MUST learn to develop for WebOS!!!
yes, please do

happy wedding
Pleas share some suggestion so that i can get rid off from this problem.
This was by far the best news of the day - and only because it means that WebOS will finally get the developer attention it deserves - and will need to have any hope of competing in the iPhone/Android marketplace.
That's pretty cool. Prob gonna layer it over windows in lieu of their Touchsmart? Ya think?
I'm hoping it just a different environment than runs as a separate app instead of an overlay
Lots of potentials here. Truly interconnected devices where we can leave our laptop, and pick it all up on the TouchPad or HP phone immediately. No need to transfer or save multiple files, all happens automatically via the cloud! Sure hope that's where it is headed. One could hope. Excited!!
This is only half of the big news. The other half is the music/movie news that's been glossed over. Put the two together and you have a better idea of what's on HP's plate for 2012 and beyond.
They want saturation of webOS in the home office, which will make it easier to move into the living room. Specifically webOS-enabled TVs, BD players, game consoles, etc.
The future isn't a webOS toaster, it's the webOS version of the XBox.
I have a suspicion that the WebOS on PC is somehow tied to HP purchasing HyperSpace Linux platform from Phoenix last year. All HP PC and Laptops being able to instantly boot to WebOS?
Its going to be a media hub. Tablets and phones are consumption devices and they are bringing those together. TV is the ultimate consumption device it just makes sense to move that direction. Think about it, videos, pictures, music, and the internet at home, work and on the go with the same experience and access to information on each device. I remember HP working on a media center last year that just disappeared about the time they bought Palm. I really had hoped they would say more about it this time around. Any one else think this summer means June 6th? :)
Dang, I wish they would have moved faster with this. I'll probably be switching to an iPhone this summer, and it would have been nice to have my phone and computer share an OS, 'cause there's no way in Hell I'm every putting anything Apple on my PC other than iTunes.
can't wait to se how this works out.
