webOS Developers Meetup in NYC on 24 February: fun, information and swag! 21

by Jonathan I Ezor#IM Wed, 23 Feb 2011 6:06 pm EST

We just wanted to let the community know that, for those of you who may be in the New York City area, you might want to head to the Touro Graduate School of Business in downtown Manhattan on Thursday evening, February 24, for the next meeting of the NY webOS Developers Meetup. The event, organized by PreCentral's own Jonathan Ezor and co-sponsored by PreCentral, will include information on Palm's new Enyo framework, a discussion (via Skype) with a Palm engineer, and an opportunity for current and potential developers alike to learn, network and show their stuff. There will also be goodies for attendees--some Palm Leather Side Cases, donated by the PreCentral Store, and a bunch of giveaways from Palm itself (no Oprah moments expected, but some good stuff nonetheless!).

If you're planning on coming, don't forget to RSVP via the event page. Twitter users can follow hashtag #224webOS for the latest. Hope to see you there!

Pre 2 giveaways would be considered an Oprah moment :D

How about a phone giveaway to Sprint Pre owners in order to make things right?

Pre 3 50% off and a custom case with your name on it for Sprint would be an Oprah moment plus a Six Flags dance.

Amazing - at Touro..... My Yeshiva away from yeshiva.....

Too bad I am tutoring.

Tutoring shmutoring! As Moses said, I'm a stranger in a strange school of business! Bring the kid along for some real tutoring!

Count me in.

Nice for New Yorkers. Would be nice to get advance notice though to get maximum audience.

who's Palm?

What the deuce??? Why can't something like this happen in San Antonio or Austin???

If I had know about this a lil bit earlier I could have made it there. Now I have to come home and read all about it bummer.

great job guys!!!!

i sure hope so!!! a leather case?! noo way! an animal had to die for me to have that and it will b free!! thanks HP for all your awesomeness

What's with all the left-coast, right-coast events? How about the midwest for once?

Silly! The event in California was in the middle of the western coast of the U.S., thus it was a midwest event.

East coast mu fucka

How about a meetup near Palm HQ? It's been a year since there's been a "meetup." Who's in?
Our group's been hijacked by some corporate shill, who seems intent on ensuring no meetups happen. who's with me to take it back? http://meetup.com/svpalmpre/
All you really gotta do is join, make some noise (on the boards/walls, to the "organizer," and optionally, to meetup.com)
Let's get this schmuck out, and have Silicon Valley webOS meetups folks!
Alternately, pressure meetup.com to close this group, and focus on meetup.com/palm-webos which is a better name for a group if we're only going to keep one.

wheres the love for orlando, fl.?

It's at Disney World!!

I have a software idea for my industry and would like to find a developer with whom I could work. How would someone find that?

I wish to state exactly the same thing that 'atremorer' wrote:
