webOS in-app purchases, promo codes coming this Summer; Developer sessions expanding 16

We first reported that HP was planning on brining promo codes to the webOS App Catalog back in November and again in February at Mobile World Congress. The original target date was "early 2011," but that's apparently been pushed back to summer according to an interview Richard Kerris did with webOSroundup. We're definitely pumped for developers to have a chance to promote their apps via promo codes.
While there is no update on the also-promised carrier billing that HP has mentioned, Kerris also let it be known that they're working on an official in-app payment framework for webOS. Another issue that developers might be interested in, that persnickety geo-location issue, is also apparently slated for a fix.
Finally, HP is looking to expand their Developer Sessions, wherein devleopers can actually test their apps on new hardware like the TouchPad, beyond the confines of Sunnyvale and into Paris, Berlin, and perhaps some stateside locations.

If something this minor has been "pushed back", imagine what else has? Pre3 for Christmas now?
M.
Our moto H/P, please let us buy "ANY APP IN ANY COUNTRY".... ANY APP IN ANY COUNTRY....ANY APP IN ANY COUNTRY
Perhaps they are busy creating Apps for more importend systems like iOS or android.
Whatever the HP Printer division does has nothing to do with the Palm division.
Evidently.
Promises, promises, that's all we hear from them. There are way too many issues with the current App Catalog for them to even talk about in-app purchases and promo codes, the least of these issues for developers being geo-restrictions. You just need to go to the App Submissions subforum at the Palm developer forums to see how frustrated devs are with bugs in the app catalog, and fixes being pushed back to "next week", and bad communication between developer relations and developers.
I thought developer relations were at all these events and reassuring developers they were working on this stuff?
Those reassurances are just more promises they are making. They are only good at making promises, not delivering on them.

lol...I do feel for the main page guys trying to generate content from a dessert of progress or real news these days.
If only HP/Palm had half the enthusiasm of PreCentral and half the brains of WebOSInternals there would be some real news.
But hey, apparently there's a launch party for a phone without an official launch date next week! Woop-dee-doo!
HP please have something CONCRETE to show us. Everything is a damn promise or rumor with you guys.
I love WEBos and I most certainly will not switch if I don't have to. All of us Original Pre- holders on Sprint don't even know IF we can stay on WebOS. A little light at the end of the tunnel would be nice.
DON'T leave us in the dark it's not very nice.
That is all...
The only way I can see people staying on Sprint is if they get a Sprint Pre 2, thanks to webOS Internals. You know, if webOS Internals can "give" us Sprint Pre 2's, then it's definitely within HP's power to do the same. At least that would be "making things right", but then that means they won't do it.
I will take a Pre 2 in a heartbeat at this point. I just talked two girls into getting Pre2s instead of iphones.(haha) Although after playing with the Pre2 for a bit I am totally sold on upgrading to one if possible. Although I wont spend $500 to make it so... I hope HP does "make it right" somehow. Pre2 would be fine till the "stingray" or whatever comes out later. Can you really expect people to stick with the same phone for over 2 yrs.?~ Come on now~
I hope carrier billing isn't the only option - I hate having a variable phone bill. I prefer it pull directly from my debit card
