webOS Theme for Windows Mobile 12
If you can't get a Pre, the next best thing may be getting a webOS theme. Sure, we've seen Palm send letters out putting the kaibosh on these things before, but we're thinking drmad's work at XDA-Developers making Windows Mobile feel a little bit like webOS is more inspired than copied and deserves some shelf life.
The work's being done with Wisbar Advanced Desktop and a lot of love, though it doesn't look like drmad will be releasing this theme - the theme was done on Windows Mobile 6.1 and those crazy hardcore XDA folks are moving so quickly into the Windows Mobile 6.5 realm the potential audience for the theme is shrinking rapidly.
Speaking of cross platform craziness, have you seen the Android App in our Homebrew Gallery? Sure, it's just a card with a clock and a launcher for now, but it could make for a fun prank sometime.

Goodbye WinMo. I love WebOS better than you now.
One thing I always loved about WM was how easy it was to customize. XDA-dev and ppcgeeks made my Touch Pro from a mediocre smartphone into a very good one. Still, now it's the Pre for various reasons. I like most things as much or more than the Touch Pro but there are still a few things I miss. Easy wireless tethering. better keyboard, more customization, etc. What I don't miss is the slow multitasking, only passable browsers, and lack of easy Google/Facebook integration the way WebOS does. Exchange was about the same.
I have MyTether and got it working with USB but never got it working via wifi. I have no desire at all for an onscreen keyboard. I really hate virtual keyboards but it's a personal pref.
Never noticed because I only use one. Exchange is my work contacts/calendar/email, google is my personal, and facebook is just for BS-ing with friends. I like having all 3 sync the way just Exchange used to.
Looks pretty lame on this phone. Glad I left Winmo.
