Wifi Media Sync 3.0 on sale for 60% off this month

Last month we gave away a hundred copies of Wifi Media Sync in conjunction with the app gaining a new Mac client. This month, developer 8-Bit Development has decided to put the flagship app on sale for the entirety of May. How on sale? Sixty percent off, that's how much. That's cut the price of the wireless media synchronization app to $1.99, from $4.99 before now.

That two dollars allows you to sync your favorite media files, including photos, music, videos, and documents from your Windows or Mac computer (using the free desktop companion app), all over the magic of your home (or office or whatever) WiFi network. Wifi Media Sync 3.0 is available for both webOS smartphones running at least webOS 2.1.0 and the TouchPad. It really enables truly wireless operation for the TouchPad for those of us that sync back and forth media from our computers. You get email and browse the web wireless, charge wirelessly, and now you can sling files through the ether. It's the future, except it's now, so… it's today. Tomorrow. Or something, all we know is that it's pretty darned cool.

You've got all month to ponder the purchase, but come June you can expect Wifi Media Sync to jump back up to the full $4.99. So if you want to save a few bucks and get your wireless sync on, you've got a few weeks to save 60%.

That's awesome, I love this app!

I was fortunate to receive a free copy. Its well worth the original price so if you don't have it then take advantage of the sale price. You won't regret it.

I've had this app since it came out a couple of years ago on my 1.4.5 Pre-, and thoroughly used/enjoyed it. Pretty simple to use/set up. Recommended.

Just got it - works great so far.

Sounds like a great App. The question is, why should i buy this when there´s Wifi File Sharing on Preware? Does it have some nice additional features?

WiFi File Sharing is drag-and-drop.

Wifi Media Sync is syncing, i.e. you pick folders on your computer and it syncs the contents with nary a fuss. No need to set your device up as a Samba server, no need to figure out which files need copying and which don't.

Wifi File Sharing on Preware... doesn't work for everyone at least not for me....but this definetly works

well, works for me without any problems..

would this sync solution act as a work-around for the media indexing bug?

Files I transfer with this app show up immediately.

My main computer is not connected via WiFi but via Ethernet cable to my router. Will this software work anyway or is it really bound to WiFi connections?

As long as your WiFi router is sending a signal, then it will work. My PC is also hardwired into my router, and have no issues transferring files back and forth.

I've been waiting for something like this for a while. I have Splashtop Streamer and KSMedia Streamer, but I just wanted to sync me media and play it locally on the Touchpad. Nice to get it on sale.

Unfortunately, I can't get more than 30-40 files transferred before it stalls. I have to manually cancel the sync then begin it again. At this rate it will be days before it's done. I have ~3200 files selected to transfer, so this is going to take a while.

Maybe try smaller batches? I just transferred ~150 files, there were a few hangs, but I just left it, and they all came through.
