Win One of Ten Copies of Classic! 24

by Dieter Bohn Sun, 24 May 2009 5:36 pm EDT

Although the video portion of the "What Would You Do for a Palm Pre" is over (submissions are coming in as you're reading this!), we're not done with the contests.  You still can win one of five $50 Amazon gift cards by thanking or getting thanked in our Palm Pre Forums

That's not enough, though. The kind and generous folks at MotionApps are donating TEN copies of their Palm OS Emulator app Classic to PreCentral.net members!

How to win?  Simple.  Head on over to this thread in our Palm Pre Forums and tell us: What is your favorite PalmOS app that you can't live without, Pre or no Pre?  If there's an app that you don't think will even be possible with the webOS SDK but will work under Classic, we'd be interested in hearing about that too.

On the day the Pre gets released and Classic is available, we'll choose randomly from amongst all the posters in that thread. (Note: comments on this post will not be counted as entries.  Post it in the forums!)

One last note - you may have missed it in all the Palm Eos hoopla, but we had a very nice Q&A with MotionApps wherein a new Classic feature was revealed: pinch and zoom for easier tapping!

I agree that you will get better support by it being handled by a 3rd party. It is in the best interest of the user and palm for it to be that way. Since the 3rd party relies on the app making them money they will be sure to offer top quality in both the app and their support of it. To me it's a win win and will be well worth it if you will be using more than a few apps from palmOS especially if you paid money for the apps.

Pimlico's DateBook software is the BEST! I have used it over many years. I can not image using ANYTHING else. Until I heard that there would be a way to still use this vital program, but still upgrade to Palm's new OS; I wasn't interested. I'm looking forward to seeing the new Palm when it comes out.

That was tough, choosing just one app. Even my gps navigation software, outdated as it is, was a contender for the top spot (Street Atlas USA Plus, btw).

The lack of Bluetooth and gps access, though, is a tragic limitation.
