hey!!
my first first!!
fail
There's always next time.
I think I got most of those, I would have to agree with most of those. Would be nice to have a "profile" for the top menu uber patch
I guess that's your first 2nd :/
Look closer.
hide quick launch bar in launcher ... Is a must
+1
I like most of those, but also use Hide Quick Launch Bar, Wrap Pages and Reset to Middle for a clean look.
All of those are available as part of the Advanced Configuration Options in Launcher patch, and it lets you do so much more without locking you into it that it isn't even funny.
Looks like I need to do soome changes on my patches. Thanks
No problem. :) Advanced Configuration is a wonderful patch, I don't know how I ever lived without it!
.... Simply the best patch to date!....
I cant believe they didn't include the patch that stops the browser from reloading every time it is brought from cardview to full screen. Other than patches that are specific to phone usage, that's probably the most critical to me. Without it, multi-tasking and web browsing are not very usable...
I'm not so surprised that they didn't include it as that more people aren't using it... one of the best kept secrets of homebrewing...
Im surprised no vibrate extension, for texts, emails, notifications. That is my favorite the 0.1 second vibrate that you get out of the box is way to short or feel.
I can't imagine not having the vkboard. In landscape view it is the only way to type. Yeah, I do make more mistakes with it but I mainly use it when I am at work and need to send a quick short message - and only have one free hand.
I also find the Pre's key lighting to be quirky and sometimes will just flat out fail. At that point the vkboard is my best friend. :-)
The Virtual Keyboard is a nice idea, but it really sucks. So buggy and it doesn't have autocorrect!
It's near unusable on my sprint pre... but I admit I haven't taken too close of a look at the thread to see if there's a way to speed it up.
with the proper patches and files installed it does auto correct.
Everyone's gonna have their, "OMG, how could you NOT include THIS patch?" and that's what makes patching great. We each get the little tweaks that makes our phone work the exact way we need it to. There are likely few, if any, patches that every single patcher uses.
My one patch that I get lost without is the Command Line patch and its companion Memo patch. It's such a central part of how I use my Pre.
ADD DATE TO TOP BAR will not install for me.. keep getting error/falure notice..strange. I have battery percentage and add am/pm to time at top. Maybe not enough room?
The forums can help you out with this. Sorry I don't have a link for you.
You're going to have to remove the patch that shows am/pm. There's not enough room to keep both. I tried installing every single add date patch, and none of them would work. After removing the am/pm patch I was able to install the add date dd-MMM-yy patch--now I am unable to reinstall the am/pm patch.
SMS Tone per Contact was my 2nd patch. Try it, you'll wonder how you lived without if you get a lot of text from different people.
Does anyone else notice that, with the battery % patch, that the percent will always drop from around 14% to 0? Why does this happen?
drag radius isn't even on the list. Its the one patch I would take before any other because it does so much to make the phone usable (after UK of course)
Surprising UberCalendar did not make the list, without it the calendar is useless. Other good one is add birthday from contacts patch.
I'm amazed that the Enable Landscape Mode patches didn't make the list?!?!
I'm surprised
Glad to see these updates, but I'm unable to use quick install. Keep getting an error message, please advise what to do to fix this issue so i can enjoy the patches once again.
Easy, go to the WOSQI support forum on here and they will help you.

Just played with Warlord's animated patch system for my backgrounds & combined them with Super Glass Icons theme by respectlos then entered "rm /usr/palm/sysmgr/images/loading-card-scrim.png" (w/out quotes of course) into terminal app to remove the loading card & just leave the glass globes floating for a really clean look. A wee bit more of a battery drain but w/the overclocked SR71 Blackbird Kernel by unixpsycho it sure is snappy! Hope I didn't miss crediting anyone for the hard work, you people are amazing!!! Thanks!!!!!!
what did he say?
Somebody with contact information for the development staff at HP/Palm please e-mail this thread so that god willing WebOS 2.0 will have all this stuff and we don't have to fear updates coming and ruining all of our beloved patches.
This is free market research for them. Although the audience on this forum is more how-do-you-say "techie" than the average user, I'd say the most commonly used patches here would still greatly benefit the public at large in a future WebOS rollout.
WebOS2.0 is the new "future WebOS rollout" it's new hardware Pre2 if you will...if you have a Sprint Pre of course, your talking about the OTA update that were still waiting for in the states, released overseas but it has a few bugs so their working them out B4 they release update 1.4.5 to us...nice not being the guinea pig huh? ;) anyway if your patches are up to date they'll be fine just make sure u uninstall any overclocking and/or themes you have B4 updating to 1.4.5 you can re-install them after you update.....did I say new HARDWARE? Yes I did! new Palm Pre 2.0 hope you don't have shitty no reception AT&T or Rape are customers for evey penny possible Verizon bc no new Pre or Pixi for you guys enjoy hour + or Droids or weakPhones, I mean iPhones ha! Especially all you who jumped ship! 1GHz not so snappydragon ha! I got 1.2GHz with year old tech, imagine what I can overclock OS2.0 too? 1.5? 1.8? Perhaps 2.0! LMAO! Enjoy your thousands of useless apps, we'll be over here blazin by you B4 the holidays (that last part wasn't directed @ kx250)
I wish there was an easier way to turn up and down the different types of volumes without having to go to a certain app. For example, in order to turn down the music volume, you have to first go to mp3 player then turn down the volume.
I also wish we had graffiti... I can't believe Android got it first...
It would also be nice to be able to use the accelerometer in pdfs and document reader. I would also like a universal forward swipe instead of just for the browser.
You could try my system menus device menu mod patch that will allow you to show device sub menu in device menu with ability to change all volumes. The patch should include all items that other device menu patches would bring, but with ability to configure what is shown in the menu.
I love scroll bar in browser patch from TI Wizard. (search webos patch forums- not in preware though I have no idea why it isn't). With internalz new install .patch feature, it's super easy. It's a must for reading precentral on the Pre cuz you can get a feel for how many posts/comments with the scroll bar. Check it out!
These are excellent patches. UberCalender sounds great, but I get an error installing message. I figured it wasn't compatible with the "Default to week view" patch. No problem, I think, I'll just uninstall. Guess what. Preware isn't seeing my installed patches I guess since the last update so I can uninstall. Time to head to the forums!
update: running Emergency Reconstruction Utility under patches> linux applications fixed the problem! Install app close and reopen preware, tada! Like magic! Thanx Webos Internalz!
Can't find UberCalendar!
open preware>available packages>patch>calender> scroll down to ubercalender
or
open preware>available packages>patch>tap All, then start typing "ubercalender"
The search should pull it up for you.

the amount of times my txt would prematurely send while my fumbly fingers typed or when I tried to move the cursor, made the REMOVE SEND AND ATTACH BUTTONS and ENTER KEY FOR NEW LINE the greatest patches for me.
I've been a Pre owner for over a year (on my 3rd phone because of sucky hardware and a toilet mishap) and just recently hooked up with Preware and LOVING IT! I even enjoy the keyboard. I've been singing the happy patching song for a few weeks now.
I can't believe Jason's "Really Silent Ringer Switch Mute" patch didn't make the favorites list... when I put my phone in quiet mode, I don't mean "be quiet unless you really want to make noise", I mean "BE QUIET or I will throw you against a wall and then you damned well will be quiet!".
Even more amazing though is that I need a patch to do this in the first place.
by the way, thanks to this list and comments, I've added Glass Effect, Hide Amazon MP3, and Hide Quick Launch in Launcher Only to my Pre+, bringing my total to 19... obvious improvement, thanks PreCentral!
Cannot get Virtual Keyboard to work properly. I cannot even can't get the VK to appear with the "double tap" I guess you need to be magicql to use it.
you do have to have your cursor in an active text field before the vkb will pop up. assuming you are using it right, try removing and re-installing the vkb and it's associated themes and config file.
Got most of these, however I've added Glass Effect, Advanced Configuration for Launcher, and Faster Card Animations. Loving it! Thanks for the list PreCentral!

To Asphalt 5 players that patch...have any of you noticed that the game is now nearly impossible to play because it keeps freezing/operating in slow motion? I never had any issues with the game until I started using preware themes and patches...Any ideas how I could fix this?
