Add / Manage Synergy Accounts [webos 1.x]

This tip is only for devices running webOS 1.4.5.1 and lower

 Among the many revolutionary features in webOS was the deployment of Synergy that allows you to log in to various online accounts and combine the data from those accounts within multiple applications, including Contacts, Calendar, Email and Photos. And once logged in, Synergy is smart enough to link similar contracts together, allow you to modify which accounts show in your calendars by default, and even give you a unified email inbox if desired.

To add an account in weboS 1.x, you need to first open up an app that allows for that account, swipe down from the top-left to bring down the Application dropdown menu, select "Preferences & Accounts" and then tap the "Add an Account" button on the bottom of the page. If you are adding an email account, you just need to type in the account and password, otherwise you will be prompted to select from which online service you want to add (Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, etc). Once you complete the setup, however, synergy will also add this account to any other app that the account is compatible with. So, if you add an email account, your Messaging, Contract and Calendar apps may also be updated to support that account. For any of those services that you do not want, you will then need to go into that respective app, go to the "Preferences & Accounts" page, tap on the account in the "ACCOUNTS" section and select “Remove Account”. Note that both adding or deleting synergy accounts may take a bit of times, so be patient and let it do its thing until it’s complete.
