David Pogue Wants a Pre

We already knew from his January 14th Column that Tech Pundit extraordinaire David Pogue thought pretty highly of the Palm Pre.  Now through the magic of Twitter we discover that it's not just warm thoughts, it looks to be genuine desire.  Get this:

Lots asking: "Would you get a Pre over an iPhone?" In a heartbeat--if it weren't for the App Store. If Palm's app store shapes up, then YES!

Later in his feed Pogue even goes so far as to give the much-malinged Sprint network credit for being the best in his area.  But back to the above Twitter, if the only thing that the iPhone has over the Pre is the App Store, we think that Palm is sitting pretty.  We'll have to wait and see if we can get some really good games, but the mojo SDK is robust enough and so easy to develop for that we're expecting there should be plenty of quality apps on the Pre.

If the man who previously sang paeans to the iPhone is on the verge of switching to the Pre, we're thinking that Palm might have more than a few switchers on their hands.
